Loane Bobillier is a young professional currently working as a Project Coordinator.

Loane Bobillier, originally from Switzerland, spent much of her formative years immersed in cultures far from her homeland. In 2004, at the age of four, she and her family relocated from Sézenove, Switzerland, to the rural outskirts of Shanghai, China.

The stark contrast between European and Asian culture deeply influenced Loane’s artistic practice, often reflected in her use of gold leaf—a tribute to the temples that surrounded her childhood. Growing up in a Chinese community, she quickly adapted to her new environment, learning Mandarin as a second language and absorbing the rich sensory experiences of Shanghai’s bustling streets, diverse cuisine, and vibrant traditions. Four years later, at the age of eight, Loane’s journey continued as her family relocated once again—this time to Singapore.

In 2008, Singapore became her second home, a metropolitan hub of cultural diversity that further shaped her global perspective. Attending an international school before transitioning to a British curriculum, she honed her artistic skills, excelling in Art GCSE and later Art & Design A-Level.

Determined to pursue her creative ambitions, she took a gap year during the COVID-19 pandemic before moving to the UK to study Fine Art at Leeds Arts University. Thriving in an environment of artistic exploration, Loane exhibited her work in multiple galleries and curated her first solo exhibition, Squaring the Circle (2023), where she also delivered an artist talk to a public audience. Her dedication and talent culminated in achieving a First Class Honours degree.

Following university, Loane settled in Leeds, transitioning from a lively student household to establishing a home with her partner. She embarked on a career as a Project Coordinator, balancing her corporate role with her enduring passion for the arts. Now, she continues to push the boundaries of her artistic practice, drawing upon her diverse cultural experiences to shape her contemporary work.
